Short Story Challenge

Hello everyone! Just a quick update on how the ‘NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge’ went for me. I was eliminated after the first round. It was disappointing, but what can you do! I received some amazing and detailed feedback on my story from the panel of judges that I believe will really help me grow my short story writing abilities! As I’ve said before, I find my writing style to be better suited for novel length stories, but part of being a writer is continuously growing and improving yourself. This was a daunting challenge that was harder than any other writing challenge I’ve ever taken on and was probably one of the most stressful 7 days of my life (as that was the time limit). But it was an amazing experience that inspired about 2-3 new writing ideas for the future. For those wondering if I will be posting the story onto my short story section, it’s a bit of a good news bad news situation. I will not be posting the story for all to read at this time, but that is because I believe that I could do a much better version of this story without the 2500-word limit! I will be using the short story I submitted as a general outline and will start working on turning this into a full-length story in the near future. In the meantime, I will continue to work on my short story skills, and I will be looking to submit these to some short story catalogues in the near future!
